Madison's Funny Sayings

Madison says the funniest things on a daily basis. She also has some funny ways of saying things. She also makes the craziest faces. Lots of time the crazy faces and funny sayings are used together. I have been writing the sayings in a journal but want to record them on here since my journal is currently packed away in a box and by the time I find it I will probably have forgotten some of the sayings.

A few weeks ago we were eating hot dogs when I noticed her peeling the skin off the hot dog. I asked her what she was doing and she told me "she was peeling the paper off her hot dog"

She asked for a peanut butter taco a few weeks ago. Took us awhile to figure out what she was talking about....it was a tortilla with peanut butter on it

She still calls polka dots "pokey nots"

She is always asking if we can stop at Weigels or Sonic and get a "flushie" which is really a slushie

I am so going to miss these sweet sayings of her's!

Caleb's Field Day

Wednesday I attended Caleb's Field Day. It was kinda sad since it was his last year at Farragut. I even forgot to get a picture of him with his teacher but we are going to swing by the school on Monday and snap a picture of him and Mrs Moore. I love watching my kids perform at Field Day every year....sadly Taylor's was on a Thursday so I wasn't able to attend hers this year :(

My sweet little boy!

Getting ready for the tug of war

Pulling with all his might!

The sack hop

The mascot, Finley, even made an appearance!

Hula-hooping

And the thing he is best at....running! He is super fast! He can not wait to run cross county in 3rd grade. His stride may be short but he makes up for it in speed!

I had a wonderful day with my little boy watching him in action!

The Glade

We love getting away for a few days with Matt's family. All the cousins get along and play together so well. They live for these vacations together! This past weekend we got together at Fairfield Glade to celebrate Mother's Day as well as Caleb and Kelsey's 7th birthdays. We were excited that Daniel, Rachel and Hannah were going to be able to come down too. I had a gut feeling that Rachel who was due May 12th was going to have the baby on Mother's Day. I was right! They got to the Glade about 10:30 Saturday morning and Rachel's water broke about 2:30 so they headed back to Cookeville. After 19 hrs of labor we welcomed Laura Isabelle into our family :)

Mother's Day 2010

I was lucky enough to be able to spend Mother's Day with my mom. Some of you reading my blog know that besides Matt, my mom is my best friend. She is the first one I call to tell any news to. I talk to my mom everyday, sometimes numerous times a day! I look forward to moving in with them in the next few weeks. I know lots of people can't say that but I surely can. I am also blessed to have a great Mother-in-law. We were able to celebrate with her on Saturday before she rushed to Cookeville to welcome her 12th grandchild...a little girl named Laura who was born on Mother's Day!

We also threw in some birthday celebrations. We celebrated Taylor's birthday, my mom's birthday, my sister's birthday and Caleb's birthday. We enjoyed an awesome mexican meal on our new deck :) Thanks to Hope, Chris and Mom for doing most of the cooking and to Matt for making some awesome Margaritas!

Me and my little blessings!

Me and my mom

Caleb got a DS....I thought it might have a heart attack when he opened it!

Taylor scored her very own IPOD Nano!

Madison got a pink Zhu-Zhu and some accessories

They all 3 also got some cute clothes. Caleb also got a black and white Zhu-Zhu hamster, garage with car, a carrying case and earbuds for his DS and 2 games for the DS. Taylor had already got most of her presents....new clothes, shoes and a room makeover! Madison got a cute pink tutu and shirt to match.

It was a great day. I am so thankful to have my mom and to be a mom. Next year we hope to add another mom to our collection....my sister Hope :)

Madison's New Hair-do!

We are enjoying some time with Matt's family in Crossville this weekend celebrating birthdays and Mother's Day. One thing we love about seeing them is the free haircuts Aunt Gabby gives! Madison's hair has been driving her crazy. It is getting so long and is constantly tangled. She is always having to push it out of her face. A few little girls in her class at preschool have cut their hair off lately and she decided she wanted to cut hers too. After having to fight with her every morning to brush out the tangles, I was all for cutting it! So Aunt Gabby pulled out the scissors and chopped it off! And we love it. It looks so cute on her petite little self. The only problem is that it may have affected her weight....I think she lost like 5 lbs :) LOL

Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have been running like crazy lately! It seems like I don't have enough hours in the day to get it all accomplished. I have been subbing a lot lately so it doesn't leave much time to work on the house. Matt has been working with a contractor during the day so that doesn't leave him much time to work on the house. The kids only have 2 1/2 weeks of school and then we move, guess I had better get busy. Mom and Dad are all moved in, still living out of boxes but all moved :)

This past weekend was our church Ladies Retreat. I look so forward to it every year and am never disappointed! This year's theme was "Who's Carrying Your Bags" and it was great! Robin (our preacher's wife for readers who don't go to our church) gives the best lessons. The activities and games are wonderful. So great that I have a large bruise on my arm to show for the enthusiasm that our group of women has :) "Take a Hike"is a hilarious game where you really get to know one another and everyone looks forward to playing it every year :) Those Church of Christ ladies are serious about their games :) I had great roommates (Amy T, Cindy T and Nova) and look forward to rooming with them for many more Ladies Retreats :) They are my Twinkles!

We are headed to The Glade this weekend to celebrate birthday's/Mother's Day with Matt's family. The kiddos are all getting haircuts compliments of Aunt Gabby and are looking forward to seeing their cousins and swimming! My kids never get enough swimming in their opinion. We seriously need our own pool...Aunt Hope if you are reading this could you talk Chris into putting a pool in! I will come and keep it maintained :)

On Friday we will celebrate Caleb's 7th birthday! I have no idea where the time has gone! I can't believe he is turning 7. He is almost done with 1st grade :(

Madison has her end of the year picnic at Cove Park Friday morning. Cindy T, you might want to skip over this next part....I have my end of the year teacher appreciation lunch at Calhouns on the River Friday too. Looking very forward to lunch with my coworkers. I love the ladies I work with and am going to miss them over the summer.
