Madison's Artwork

The last few months Madison has done some of the cutest art at school. I can't keep every piece so I take a picture of the things Madison makes and then put them on a cd each year. Here are some of my favorites that have come home recently.

Spring Break 2011

We enjoyed spending spring break at my Grandmother's house. Matt had to drill the first weekend of spring break so he dropped us off at my Grandmother's and went on to Memphis for the weekend. It was cold and rainy for the first few days and Madison broke out in hives our 2nd day there. After a quick trip to the ER b/c one of her arms was so covered in hives that it swelled up double it's normal size and also she had a lot of hives around her mouth and eyes. After a prescription for Prednisone and some benadryl we went back home. The next few days we spend inside b/c it was still cold and Madison felt horrible. Wednesday and Thursday we were able to get outside and do some yard work as well as play around some. We made 2 trips down to the creek for the kids to splash around. They had a blast!

Having so much fun!

Caleb and Taylor helping Madison cross the creek

Caleb and Taylor were very brave....they walked all around the creek

Madison stayed pretty close to Matt and I for the most part

I think I am going to hang my kids by their feet to sleep!

I couldn't resist taking pictures of Caleb and Madison's hair when they woke up one morning. I do not realize how they get it so wild! I mean, are they standing on their heads? Swimming around in circles? Someone help me out...what are my kids doing during the night?

Caleb's isn't too hard to deal with...a brush and the squirt bottle and he is good to go!

Madison's on the other hand is harder to deal with (though easier now that it is short).

3 Weeks

Our time with Matt is quickly slipping away. Three weeks from now he will be in his "new home" of San Antonio! We have 2 more weeks here before he has to report for drill in Memphis. We will be able to spend a few more days together between drill and him actually leaving. He will board a plane on Tuesday morning the 22nd. I won't be able to take him to the airport unfortunately as I have to get home to return to work and the kids. That is probably for the best though...not sure I would be able to make the 6 hr drive while crying. It is really hitting home now for me as well as the kids. We are trying to cram as many fun things in as possible over the next few weeks. We also have some loose ends to tie up....last minute things to get for Matt before he leaves as well as having a will draw up (should have been done years ago but we just never made it a priority and now we are having to). We are also trying to get a few things done around the house. The garage definitely needed some work before Matt left. LOL

I have been busy getting things done for our trip to TX for Matt's graduation in May. Both the girls were in need of new luggage (Taylor's duffel was falling apart b/c she uses it so much and it was time to move Madison to a bigger suitcase). They loved getting new luggage....very girly luggage I might add.

I also got our plane tickets booked....let me tell you that hurt my bank account but will be so worth it. We also got our rooms booked...we are staying on the Riverwalk which we have heard is so neat.

I knew this time was coming but it definitely isn't as easy as I thought it was going to be (not that I thought it was going to be that easy but I thought I would be able to handle it better than I am right now). I act like a pregnant person (no offense to my pregnant friends but you know what I mean w/ emotional roller coaster). I am going to miss Matt so much...we haven't been apart from each other for more than a week in 14 yrs. I know this will only be a small piece as his next time period for being gone is 4 months and I am not sure that we will be seeing him during that time.
