Spring Break

We had big plans to head to Myrtle Beach for a couple of days over Spring Break but those plans had to change. My Grandparents live about 6 hrs west and we only get to see them 4 or 5 times a year but they both have been struggling with their health and after my Grandfather took a bad fall the week before we knew we were headed down there to help them out for a few days instead. The kids were ok though as my grandparents live on a huge farm with a creek and no neighbors :) Don't get me wrong, they would have rather gone to the beach but they enjoy seeing their great-grandparents :)

The kids got to have lots of fun and I got to spend alot of time in different dr's offices.

1. They attempted to fly a kite (it really wasn't windy enough)

Caleb got his up pretty good

But Taylor (nor I) could get hers to fly really well

2. They played some kickball

Madison stealing the ball

Nana and Grandmother playing some kickball

3. They played the PSP

Caleb was teaching Madison how to play (very sweet)

4. And Madison made homemade biscuits with Grandmother :)

(we had homemade biscuits every morning...I gained a couple of lbs while gone)

We had a great time and weren't there nearly long enough, we didn't even get to go fishing! We will be going back once school is out for a much longer visit. There was lots of "stuff" we needed to do but just didn't have the time. We are hoping that we can get them to move here and be closer to us so we can help more...so far they aren't ready to move from the house they have lived in for 35 yrs, a house that they built themselves (my grandfather harvested the lumber off the farm and each room in the house is paneled with a different type of wood...birch, maple, pine, cherry. It is absolutely beautiful and makes the house worth a lot more).

Holly, your grandparents really sound like such neat people! You always have interesting stories to tell about them. I'm glad you all get to see them as often as you do!

Cindy, I couldn't help but laugh as I took that picture of my mom. She was being super silly and yelling for the kids when it was their time to kick! The things you do for grandchildren is amazing! Cindy, I have to brag and say they are interesting and when I was little we had so much fun with them. I too am glad we get to see them so much :)
