My dad

This afternoon my dad is having carotid artery surgery. My dad has had to have both the left and right carotid arteries cleaned out before. His surgeon is hoping to be able to place a stent in and not have to do the "major surgery" (they haven't been able to place stents before) b/c it is harder to do the surgery a second time due to scar tissue. If they are able to place a stent in he will only have to stay in the hospital overnight and if he has the "other" surgery he will be there 4 or 5 days and will be to go to ICU. This is not what we hope for.

Please pray that his surgeons are able to place a stent. Also pray that he doesn't have any issues after that would complicate his health (he tends to have issues with his blood pressure getting really high and his sugar, he is diabetic, tends to go all over the place because in the hospital they don't give him his insulin on a regular basis. They only give it to him when he lets them know it is high or low. I hate that b/c then once he gets home it takes about a week or so to get it back under control.

Holly- I really hope everything goes okay with your Dad. Please keep us updated. That is really frustrating about his insulin. You would think they could give it to him regurlarly in the hospital. will be praying-

I've thought about your dad several times today. Hoping all is going well. Please let him know that he's in our prayers.

By the way...I like your new blog template...very cool. :)

I received a good report via the Laurel email about your dad's surgery this afternoon. I am very pleased to hear it went well. Know that we are continuing to pray for him as he recovers. Love you guys!
